Wall Painting in Uruguay, done!

Montevideo, Uruguay

It is an honor for us to have finished painting the wall of the Schools “Lebanese Republic” and “Gibran Khalil Gibran” this past 1st of September, ending this work integrated in our projectLeaving a Mark” that seeks to leave our mark and that of the whole community, in one way or another, in our country, being able to bring joy to all the students and staff of the schools.

On this wall our goal was to capture Lebanon, choosing to paint the characteristic mountains and many cedars, framed in two red stripes and on a white background, as in the Lebanese flag, leaving our own mark with a larger cedar and our signature.

On the other hand, this past Wednesday, September 12, we had the honor of receiving the distinguished Sergio Jalil, director of CELIBAL (Center for Lebanese Studies for Latin America), in an activity organized together with the World Lebanese Cultural Union in Uruguay, also with the presence of Susana Mangana, Professor of the Department of Humanities, Head of the International Policy Program and specialist in Arabic and Islamic Studies at the Catholic University of Uruguay.

The purpose of the activity was to inform us about the current situation in Lebanon, to delve a little deeper into the political system and the changes that have taken place in it, deepening the functioning of Lebanese society and the current state of the region to understand how Lebanon is affected by what happens in the region. Undoubtedly it was an extremely enriching experience for all of us, sharing the love of that cedar that unites us all.
