WLCU celebrates Woman Day in Dhour Shweir – 12 July 2014

The WLCU will be participating in the “Woman Day celebration”, called “Link to Pink” organized by the Municipality of Dhour Shweir – Ain Sindiayneh held on 12 July 2014 under the patronage of the Minister of Education and Higher Education Mr. Elias Bou Saab and in the participation of 8 other important Lebanese organizations.

There will be an honoring for leading women of different fields. From the WLCU, we chose Mrs. Haifa Chedrawi, the former chairperson of the WLCU Committee for Ladies of Lebanese Descent to be honored from “Emigration”.

Mrs. Chedrawi was born in Ghana, Africa. She is married to the former WLCU World President Mr. Eid Chedrawi. She always showed her love and dedication to Lebanon and she worked in the social and cultural fields and in defending the Lebanese women’s rights overseas.

On other hand, the WLCU will be present from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. and have a stand which will include the following:

 – Communications campaign: in order to support the rights of Lebanese Emigrants women (media, T-Shirts, banners, etc.).

– Wishing Tree: people visiting the stand can write a wish for Lebanese women and hang it on a tree.

– WLCU booklet: distribution of a short magazine showing WLCU main activities and pictures.

– Walkathon: a staff of the WLCUY and WLCU friends will represent our organization on that run at 7:45 P.M.

– Gift: we will be distributing small plants as a symbol of growth and strength of Lebanese women rights.

Our stand will be mainly staffed by WLCU Youth – with the active participation of JUCAL in Lebanon – Lebanese Universities’ students and women of our institution present in Lebanon.
