For the past two weeks, a committee formed by the World Secretary General, Mr. Wissam Azzi, Youth Council President, Claude Geaitani and Youth Secretary General Sergio de los Rios Feghali visited Lebanon to coordinate LEBolution 2017, the World Youth Encounter organized by the World Lebanese Cultural Union that will take place in Lebanon from July 21st to July 31st, 2017.
The first and most important alliance was established with the Ministry of Tourism, presided by his Excellency Minister Avedis Guidanian, who was more than happy and excited to welcome all of our youth during the whole journey. Minister Guidanian encouraged the project that the World Lebanese Cultural Union hosts and was keen on having a day in Borj Hammoud ‘Exploring the Armenian Culture’.
During our visit, we were received by the Minister of Culture, His Excellency Dr. Ghattas Khoury, who welcomed us and offered to help with the access to all cultural venues we will be visiting such as Baalbek and National Museum of Beirut. We were also received by the Minister of Information, his Excellency Melhem Riachi, with whom we discussed media coverage for LEBolution 2017.
Among officials from the Lebanese Government we were also received by the Director General for Emigrants from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigration Haytham Jomaa. Several Municipalities where also visited by LEBolution 2017 committee: President George Nader Azzi, Municipality of Jiyeh; President Najib Khoury, Municipality of Tartej; President Ziad Hawat, Municipality of Jbeil; President Mouhamad Saoudi, Municipality of Saida; and President Assad Zoughaib, Municipality of Zahle.
WLCU committee for LEBolution 2017 also visited some representatives from different political parties in a message of cooperation for our emigration in the world. President for Progressive Socialist Party, Taymour Jumblatt welcomed us in Moukhtara and was happy to receive our youth in the Chouf area. Secretary General for Future Movement Party, Ahmad Hariri welcomed us as well as and coordinated activities to be done in the city of Beirut.
