Special Brunch for JOL Santiago!

El pasado sábado 14 de marzo del presente se llevó a cabo en el Círculo Libanés de Santiago un exquisito Brunch organizado por JOL Santiago, contando además con la asistencia de JOL Atacama, JOL Valparaíso y la Directiva del Consejo Nacional JOL Chile y ULCM Chile, conmemorando junto a ellos, miembros de la colectividad y demás asistentes de distintas partes del país, el Día del Inmigrante Libanés, celebración que fue creada por la Unión Libanesa Cultural Mundial para conmemorar a nuestras familias que emigraron del Líbano hacia Sudamérica y el Mundo buscando un mejor futuro para su descendencia.

Asimismo, se conmemoro a la Mujer, adhiriéndose JOL a la campaña mundial #SHEis organizada por El Consejo de Jóvenes de la ULCM, en donde, además del intercambio cultural y gastronómico, tanto mujeres como hombres tomaron el protagonismo dejando plasmados y colgados en las dependencias de la casa libanesa corazones con mensajes de apoyo y reflexión en la lucha continua por la igualdad de género, así como el rol fundamental que cumple la mujer en nuestra sociedad, dándole énfasis a la mujer libanesa.

Fue un día de unión y reflexión, compartiendo a través del dabke y disfrutando de la gastronomía libanesa con preparaciones realizadas por los mismos jóvenes, entre ellas falafel, kebbeh, malfuf, tabboule, labne, sfiha, manoushe, namoura y muchas otras más.

ENGLISH VERSION

On Saturday, March 14th, an exquisite Brunch was held at Círculo Libanés in Santiago, organized by JOL Santiago, and with the assistance of members from JOL Atacama, JOL Valparaíso and the Board of Directors of the National Council JOL Chile and ULCM Chile, members of the community and other attendees from different parts of the country. The event was in celebration of the Day of the Lebanese Immigrant , a celebration that was created by the World Lebanese Cultural Union to commemorate our families who migrated from Lebanon to South America and the World looking for a better future for their offspring.

Likewise, Women were commemorated at the event, with JOL adhering to the global campaign #SHEis organized by WLCU World Council for Youth, where, in addition to cultural and gastronomic exchange, both women and men took the leading role, writing and capturing messages of support and reflection that were hung in hearts from the dependencies from the Lebanese house, related to the ongoing matter of gender equality, as well as the fundamental role that women play in our society, emphasizing Lebanese women.

It was a day of union and reflection, sharing through dabke and enjoying Lebanese gastronomy with dishes prepared by the youth, including falafel, kebbeh, malfuf, tabboule, labne, sfiha, manoushe, namoura and many others.
