 Part 01

Last weekend on July , 10th, 11th and 12th the Argentinian- Lebanese Cultural Union Youth (JUCAL) started developing the “Encuentro Nacional de Formación” which is a Cultural Event that brings together the different JUCAL’s affiliates. In this opportunity and given the world’s extraordinary circumstances, it is an honour to present the Online ENF for the first time in the Institution’s history.

This new challenge gave the argentinian youth from all over the country but also lebanese descendants from Latin America the chance to participate and shorten distances by just one click.

Generally the National Training Event best known as ‘ENF’, takes place on an annual basis each time in a different argentinian region so as to promote travelling and dynamism in the youth. Even though 2020’s host city elected was Rosario, the country is going through months of preventive, social and mandatory quarantine in the COVID-19 Pandemic context which explains why the ENF’s format changed to a virtual/online one. JUCAL Rosario has been working together with JUCAL’s National Board and its various Special Woking Commissions for the organization of this unprecedented event.

During the first long weekend of activities,  national and international figures addressed conferences, trainings as well as lectures on multidisciplinary fields including culture, politics, leadership and virtual working tools. All of them hope to foster the youth’s education and growth. Moreover, internal Commissions’ reunions took place so as to develop collaborative proposals.

This unique experience started on Friday the 10th with an Opening Event which included the assistance of numerous authorities such as the Honorable Ambassador of Argentina in Lebanon, Mauricio Alice who elaborated the most important characteristic of the bilateral relations between both countries.

In the afternoon, Doctor Soher El Sukaria, offered an emotive lecture on “Lebanese Descendance and its social participation in Argentina”. Later, the Technique Carolina Antonio united communication skills with her experience during her participation in JUCAL through a conference titled: “How, when and where do I express my participation in JUCAL?”.

Saturday the 11th the youth enjoyed an interactive conference on “Which is the best team? JUCAL, where 1+1 is not necessarily 2”  developed by  Graduated Yasmina Zgaib and the PA.Ignacio Saba. During the afternoon, the Dr. Habib Chamoun-Nicolás provided a lecture on phoenician commerce and its appliance to our daily lives: “to be or not to be phoenician that is the question”. Finally, to end such an interesting day, the Colombian- Lebanese Youth (JUCOLI) developed the “Habibi Trip” which is a an entertaining game through the Kahoot platform that aims to challenge the youth’s knowledge on History, Geography, Culture and the contemporary conditions of the country of cedars.

Finally, sunday the 12th Jorge Saba gave the “Workshop the most Lebanese cuisine” course. He prepared Kebbe and Tabboule live. In the afternoon, Graduate Daniel Ivoskus, analyzed the “Fake news in post-truth times” topic. Finishing the day Juan Saba, the director of the Dabke Firqat Al Arz Ballet, gave a theoretical workshop on dance history and Folkloric varieties at issue.

And that’s how it ended the first weekend of the virtual ENF 2020, that will go on and end next weekend on 18th and 19th of july. Distances got shorter, gathering the members of the JUCAL one more time in order to keep on with the job training and the strengthening of the youth.
