Dear Film makers,
The WLCU has the pleasure to call the Film makers within the Lebanese Diaspora all over the world to participate to the 2nd edition of Cinema Heritage International Film Festival which will take place in Paris in from 4 to 8 November 2024 under the patronage of UNESCO, in collaboration with ASSOCIATION INTERNATIONALE DE DIPLOMATIE CULTURELLE – DÉLÉGATION DU LIBAN (a French Club for UNESCO) headed by Mrs. Maria Achmar.
Two categories are concerned:
- full length film
- short film (5mn)
The main goal of this international film festival is to discover new realities and images, following the ideas of UNESCO; to promote the development of new talents and cherish the outstanding world of creators whose films have truly become a world film heritage; to show films that speak of people and cultures; to develop dialogue between cultures and peoples.
The principle of the festival is to convey a message of tolerance, openness, understanding, kindness, communication, preservation of cultural diversity and unity through a unique film language.
In this regard, we invite prominent film makers and the famous actors of Lebanon and within the Lebanese Diaspora all over the world who would like to present films during the festival, to contact us as soon as possible and before September 15th on world.secretary.general@wlcu.org, specifying the following information for every film:
- its title
- the duration
- a summary of max 10 lines
- the related link to be able to download
Then Mrs Maria Achmar will contact the applicants from behalf of the organizers to inform them about the next steps.
Overview :
From 28 November to 2 December 2023, the 1st International Film Festival “CINEMA HERITAGE” was held in Paris under the patronage of UNESCO and with the support of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic. The festival was founded by the Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic in France Sadyk Sher- Niyaz and producer, patron of the arts Kuban Toichubaev. The operator of the festival was the French company Association Aitysh France with the partnership of the International Association for Cultural Diplomacy French UNESCO Club and active participation of representatives of the diaspora of Kyrgyzstan in France, the legendary French director, Oscar and many other international awards winner Costa Gavras became the Honorary President of the festival.

Among the honorary guests of 2023 were the legendary Chinese director Zhang Yimou who was given the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Opening ceremony on November 28 at UNESCO Grand Room, the director Cristian Mungiu was given the Honorary President Award at the Closing ceremony
Among other guests were the film professionals from the world film industry: the programmer of Shanghai film festival Philip Cheah, the film critic and journalist from Spain Eva Peydro, the FIPRESCI member, the programmer and film critic Barbara Lorey de Lacharriere, the European Award winning director Nino Kirtadze, the famous French producer Francois D’Artemare, the famous Turkish actress Meriem Uzerli, who spoke about the necessity of the dialogue of cultures in the contemporary world from the UNESCO stage, the founder of Tribeca film festival Peter Scarlet, the Golden Globe Academy member, Asian World Film Festival managing director Asel Sherniyazova, the famous Turkish director Semih Kaplanoglu, Elise Jalladeau, the Thessaloniki film festival director and member of board of Europe Cinemas, the editor of the famous “Amelie” movie, two times Cesar winner Herve Schneid, the famous French actress with Cannes IFF best actress award, Cesar award and European Film Academy award Natacha Regnier, RFI journalist Keoprasith Suvannavong and etc.

L’Union Libanaise Culturelle Mondiale vous invite à participer à la 2ème édition du Festival International du Cinéma Heritage, qui se tiendra à Paris du 4 au 8 novembre 2024 sous le patronage de l’UNESCO, en collaboration avec l’Association Internationale de Diplomatie Culturelle – Délégation du Liban, dirigée par Mme Maria Achmar.
Le concours comprend deux catégories :
– Long métrage
– Court métrage (5 min)
Le festival vise à découvrir de nouvelles réalités et images, promouvoir de nouveaux talents, et célébrer les créateurs dont les films sont devenus un patrimoine cinématographique mondial. Il promeut un message de tolérance, d’ouverture, de compréhension et de préservation de la diversité culturelle à travers le langage cinématographique.
À cet égard, nous invitons les cinéastes éminents et les acteurs célèbres du Liban et de la diaspora libanaise du monde entier qui souhaiteraient présenter des films pendant le festival, à nous contacter le plus tôt possible et avant le 19 Septembre sur world.secretary.general@wlcu.org en précisant pour chaque film les informations suivantes :
- son titre
- sa durée
- un résumé de son contenu sur 10 lignes maximum
- le lien vers le film pour qu’on puisse le télécharger
Mme Maria Achmar contactera les participants de la part des organisateurs pour leur communiquer les étapes suivantes.
