World Lebanese Cultural Union
The President of the World Lebanese Cultural Union, Roger Hani, and the World Secretary-General, George Abi Raad, visited Ambassador Mostafa Adib at the Permanent Mission of Lebanon to UNESCO in Paris.
The visit was dedicated to commending the remarkable achievement of Ambassador Adib at the international organization, represented by the inclusion of 34 Lebanese cultural and archaeological sites under international protection. This accomplishment marks a significant milestone in the journey of preserving Lebanese heritage and reflects efforts to enhance cultural identity and safeguard the nation’s historical legacy.
During the meeting, President Hani presented Ambassador Adib with a copy of the WLCU letter addressed to the United Nations Secretary-General, António Guterres, calling for action to stop Israeli violations against Lebanese archaeological sites during the recent conflict.
For his part, Ambassador Adib expressed his appreciation for the WLCU’s initiative, praising its role in supporting Lebanon and its causes, especially on the international level. He also extended his greetings to all Lebanese, both at home and abroad, who have expressed their rejection of attacks on national heritage and contributed to raising global awareness of the importance of protecting it.
The discussion during the meeting delved into the current situation in Lebanon, emphasizing the importance of fostering calm and restoring stability. The two sides also reviewed the activities of the WLCU, particularly its campaigns supporting the implementation of UN Security Council resolutions related to Lebanon and its efforts in promoting Lebanese culture and strengthening cooperation with host governments.
The meeting highlighted the importance of the partnership between the WLCU and the Lebanese mission to UNESCO as a model of collaboration aimed at protecting Lebanese cultural and human heritage and promoting the values of peace and openness.
At the conclusion of the meeting, President Hani reiterated the WLCU’s full support for Ambassador Adib’s efforts in his mission, affirming its readiness to cooperate in any initiative that serves Lebanon and the Lebanese diaspora.

زار رئيس الجامعة اللبنانية الثقافية في العالم، روجيه هاني، والأمين العام للجامعة، جورج أبي رعد، سعادة السفير مصطفى أديب في مقر البعثة الدائمة للبنان لدى الأونيسكو في باريس.
وخُصصت الزيارة للإشادة بالإنجاز اللافت الذي حققه السفير أديب في المنظمة الدولية، والمتمثل في إدراج 34 موقعاً ثقافياً وأثرياً لبنانياً تحت الحماية الدولية. يُعد هذا الإنجاز محطة بارزة في مسيرة الحفاظ على التراث اللبناني، ويعكس الجهود المبذولة لتعزيز الهوية الثقافية وصون الإرث التاريخي للوطن.
وخلال اللقاء، سلم الرئيس هاني للسفير أديب نسخة من الرسالة التي وجهتها الجامعة إلى الأمين العام للأمم المتحدة، أنطونيو غوتيريش، والتي دعت فيها إلى العمل على وقف التعديات الإسرائيلية على المواقع الأثرية اللبنانية خلال فترة الحرب الأخيرة.
من جهته، أعرب السفير أديب عن تقديره لمبادرة الجامعة، مشيداً بالدور الذي تلعبه في دعم لبنان وقضاياه، لا سيما على المستوى الدولي. كما وجه تحياته إلى كل اللبنانيين في الوطن والمهجر الذين عبروا عن رفضهم للاعتداءات على التراث الوطني، وأسهموا في تعزيز الوعي العالمي بأهمية حمايته.
وتناول اللقاء نقاشات معمقة حول الوضع الراهن في لبنان، مع التركيز على أهمية تعزيز التهدئة والعودة إلى الاستقرار. كما استعرض الطرفان نشاطات الجامعة اللبنانية الثقافية في العالم، وخصوصاً حملاتها الداعمة لتطبيق قرارات مجلس الأمن المتعلقة بلبنان، وجهودها في نشر الثقافة اللبنانية وتعزيز التعاون مع الحكومات المضيفة.
وأكد اللقاء أهمية الشراكة بين الجامعة والبعثة اللبنانية لدى الأونيسكو، باعتبارها نموذجاً للتعاون الذي يهدف إلى حماية التراث الثقافي والإنساني اللبناني، والعمل على تعزيز قيم السلام والانفتاح.
وفي ختام اللقاء، جدد الرئيس هاني دعم الجامعة الكامل لجهود السفير أديب في مهامه، مؤكداً استعدادها للتعاون في أي مبادرة تسهم في خدمة لبنان والاغتراب اللبناني
