The International Festival of the Lebanese Emigrants\u2019 Committee held on 19 August \u200e\u200e2010, a press conference at the Press Club \u2013 Furn El Chebbak. This Conference was held \u200eon the occasion of the festival closure for the year 2010, and to meet with Miss Lebanon \u200eOverseas Tauany Abou Rejaili who was elected on 13 July 2010 in Hotel “Le Royal” – \u200eDbayeh, before she travels to Brazil.\u200e<\/p>\n

The Chairman of the International Festival of the Lebanese Emigrants\u2019 Committee Fadi \u200eBou Dagher attended the conference in addition to the Lebanon Office\u2019s president of the \u200eWorld Lebanese Cultural Union Toni Kaddissi, President of the public relations \u200edepartment in the IFLE Marina Hajj, Miss Lebanon Overseas Tauany Abou Rejaili (Miss \u200eLebanon in Brazil), the runners-up and their families.\u200e<\/p>\n

The President of the Press Club Mr. Youssef Howayek started the conference by a \u200ewelcoming speech, and pointed out that the Press Club “is not only a forum for political \u200eseminars and meetings but also it is a forum to meet with beauty queens and emigrants as \u200ewell.\u200e<\/p>\n

Then Mr. Fadi Bou Dagher said,: ” The International Festival of the Lebanese Emigrants\u2019 \u200eCommittee thanks the President of the Lebanese Republic General Michel Sleiman, and \u200ethe Ministries of Tourism, Foreign Affairs and Emigrants, Culture, the media, the \u200eembassies, the ministers, the deputies, the judges, the religious, the army command, the \u200egeneral managers, the security services, the Maronite Foundation, the World Lebanese \u200eCultural Union, the companies and private institutions who took part in the success of the \u200eInternational Festival of the Lebanese Emigrants for the year 2010, which was concluded \u200eby the ceremony of electing Miss Lebanon Overseas Tauany Abou Rejaili (Lebanese \u200eorigin from Kafarzabad-Bekaa). The committee announces the launching of its new \u200eactivity \u201cThe Global Lebanese Network\u201d in seven languages at the following address: \u200ewww.lebanese-emigrants.net.\u200e

\nMr. Kaddissi was asked whether the World Lebanese Cultural Union urges the Lebanese \u200ein the Diaspora countries to issue their Lebanese identity, he replied: “We worked a lot \u200eand sought with the authorities in Lebanon to issue a law giving the citizenship to the \u200eLebanese descendants. But we are also working with the Maronite Foundation to urge the \u200eLebanese emigrant to obtain the Lebanese nationality, but first they must register through \u200ethe chapters of the WLCU, so we can give the identity to the largest number of the \u200eLebanese emigrants in the Diaspora countries\u201d.<\/p>\n

He added: “The WLCU chapters in the world search for the Lebanese in the Diaspora and \u200etake the necessary documents from them, and we also have a website where they can \u200eenter and fill out the application, and then take it to the consulate to get the Lebanese \u200eidentity.”\u200e<\/p>\n

Mr. Bou Dagher was also asked: What are the tasks of Miss Lebanon Overseas?
\nHe Replied: \u201cMiss Lebanon Overseas has to work on the communication between the \u200eLebanese abroad and Lebanese residents. The influx of candidates from all over the \u200eworld, in the collaboration with the World Lebanese Cultural Union to participate in the \u200eelection, is the first step because the Misses visit Lebanon for the first time. And, the \u200eMiss will carry this project to enable the communication between the resident and \u200eexpatriate Lebanon\u201d.\u200e<\/p>\n

And then, Miss Lebanon Overseas was asked the below questions: \u200e<\/p>\n

Do you want to learn Arabic? \u200e
\nShe replied: “After I got this title, my first objective is to learn Arabic.” \u200e<\/p>\n

What is your plan for this year? \u200e
\nShe replied: “Since the largest number of Lebanese exists in Brazil, I will try to visit\u200f \u200fthe \u200estates there, the clubs and associations to talk about the beauty of Lebanon and the culture \u200ethat is found in every Lebanese, and to urge the Lebanese in Brazil to maintain this \u200eculture, and the Lebanese Emigrant to visit his home country Lebanon.”\u200e<\/p>\n

What is your experience during your presence in Lebanon? \u200e
\nShe replied: “I was very impressed with the beautiful nature and with the openness of the \u200eLebanese people to the various cultures of the world and I will pass on this image to the \u200eLebanese in Brazil and will urge them to visit Lebanon.” \u200e<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
