Alain Ayache, member of the WLCU North America Regional Council, has been appointed on \u200eJanuary 23rd 09 as Citizenship Judge in Montreal for a three-year full-time term By Jason Kenney, \u200eMinister of Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism in Canada. \u200e<\/p>\n

Prior to his appointment, Judge Ayache was a lecturer in the Department of Political Science at \u200eConcordia University and the University of Quebec in Montreal (UQAM). He has been a speaker \u200eand moderator at conferences and academic seminars for universities and colleges as well as \u200eacademic research centers and think tanks in Canada and the United States. He organized the \u200efirst symposium on the Middle East at UQAM, beside his involvement in the World Lebanese \u200eCultural Union. \u200e<\/p>\n

Citizenship judges are responsible for making decisions with regard to citizenship applications, \u200epresiding over citizenship ceremonies and administering the oath of citizenship to new citizens.\u200e<\/p>\n
