Since the group\u2019s formation in 2016, JUCOLI \u2013 Colombia\u2019s WLCU Youth chapter \u2013 has given special importance to Lebanese cuisine as one of the main pillars of Lebanese culture, and their latest event was no exception! Between April 24th<\/sup> and 29th<\/sup>, a Lebanese gastronomic festival was held in Bogot\u00e1 as a joint initiative between the Lebanese Embassy in Bogot\u00e1 and the various WLCU institutions in the city: The Lebanese-Colombian Club, Our Lady of Lebanon, the Colombian-Lebanese Ladies Association, the WLCU Colombia National Chapter and Juventud Colombo Libanesa (JUCOLI). These institutions got together to bring Kamil Bouloot, Executive Chef from Ghia Holding, to be the main star of the event which saw over 350 attendees throughout the five days!<\/p>\n

The festival had three workshops held on April 24th, <\/sup>25th<\/sup> & 27th<\/sup>, each one with its own variety of traditional Lebanese dishes presented with a modern touch, including shrimp fatteh, mhamara, \u00a0quinoa tabbouleh, chicken frikkeh, beef shawarma and, of course, knefe.<\/p>\n

\"\"April 26th<\/sup> and 28th<\/sup> saw large dinners held at the Colombian-Lebanese Club, where chef Bouloot displayed the best of his abilities through a wide selection of hot and cold mezze, two main dishes each day quinoa siyaidiyeh & roasted lamb, and the second night chicken frikkeh & beef shawarma \u00a0, and desserts. Attendants also witnessed a bellydance presentation by a local group in which Andrea Nohra, active JUCOLI member, was one of the dancers to take center stage.<\/p>\n

VERSI\u00d3N EN ESPA\u00d1OL:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Desde la formaci\u00f3n del grupo en 2016, JUCOLI – Cap\u00edtulo de la Juventud de la ULCM de Colombia – ha dado especial importancia a la cocina libanesa como uno de los principales pilares de la cultura libanesa, \u00a1y su \u00faltimo evento no fue la excepci\u00f3n! Entre el 24 y 29 de abril, se realiz\u00f3 en Bogot\u00e1 un festival gastron\u00f3mico liban\u00e9s como una iniciativa conjunta entre la Embajada libanesa en Bogot\u00e1 y las diversas instituciones de la WLCU en la ciudad: El Club Colombo Liban\u00e9s, Nuestra Se\u00f1ora del L\u00edbano, Asociaci\u00f3n de Damas ColomboLibanesas , el Cap\u00edtulo Nacional de la ULCM Colombia y Juventud Colombo Libanesa (JUCOLI). Estas instituciones se unieron para llevar a Kamil Bouloot, Chef Ejecutivo de Ghia Holding, a ser la estrella principal del evento que tuvo m\u00e1s de 350 asistentes durante los cinco d\u00edas.<\/p>\n

El festival cont\u00f3 con tres talleres realizados los d\u00edas 24, 25 y 27 de abril, cada uno con su propia variedad de platos libaneses tradicionales presentados con un toque moderno, incluyendo fatteh de langostinos, mhamara, taboule de quinoa, frikkeh de pollo, shawarma de carne de res y, por supuesto, knefe.<\/p>\n

\"\"El 26 y 28 de abril se celebraron grandes cenas en el Club Colombo Liban\u00e9s, donde el chef Bouloot mostr\u00f3 lo mejor de sus habilidades a trav\u00e9s de una amplia selecci\u00f3n de mezze caliente y fr\u00edo, dos platos principales que fueron quinoa siyaidiyeh y cordero asado, y la segunda noche pollo frikkeh y shawarma de carne, finalizando ambas noches con los respectivos postres. Los asistentes tambi\u00e9n fueron testigos de una presentaci\u00f3n de danza del vientre por parte de un grupo local en el que Andrea Nohra, miembro activa de JUCOLI, fue una de las bailarinas que tom\u00f3 el centro del escenario.<\/p>\n
