On the occasion of the 4th edition of the Lebanese days \u201cJourn\u00e9es du Liban\u201d \u00a0in Paris which took place on the 18th, 19th and 20th of May in Paris 4th, honoring the French-Lebanese Youth, at the initiative of the WLCU – France and a collective of French-Lebanese associations, chaired by Mr. Moussa Ghanem, the ULCM’s World Cultural Commission led on May 19, 2018, \u00a0a round table on “Resilience and French-Lebanese Youth: from a dynamic of friendship to future projects France-Lebanon “organized by Dr. Christiane Saliba the head of this commission and Mr. Edmond Massih Former President of the WLCU-France and initiator of the Lebanese days \u201cJourn\u00e9es du Liban\u201d \u00a0in Paris .<\/span><\/p>\n

Participants in this roundtable were SEM. Rami Adwan Ambassador of Lebanon in France, Dr. Christiane Saliba (speaker and moderator), artist Charles Nassar, engineer and businessman Antoine Iskandar, with the contribution of Mr. Jamil Chalak, magistrate and director of Radio Orient in France and Miss Josephine Bichareil. The interventions were followed by an interactive discussion of the speakers with the young student public and the young university graduates.<\/span><\/p>\n

The aim of this round table is to illustrate the potential of French-Lebanese (FL) \/ French (F) \/ Lebanese (L) youth in supporting a resilient Lebanon in order to set up a youth think tank and action plan to implement a platform for exchange and mutual assistance of skills and projects between France and Lebanon.<\/span><\/p>\n

This project contributes to the idea of platform of the active forces already issued during a round table of the JDL 2016 animated and organized by Dr. Saliba and Mr. Massih entitled “What innovative interaction of the Lebanese nation\u2019s active forces between the Lebanese people in Lebanon and abroad? Thoughts and advocacy for the implementation of a dynamic charisms\u2019 platform, useful for the country and its future” with the participation of Professor Jean-Marc Ayoubi and Lawyer Carol Saba.<\/span><\/p>\n

Dr. Saliba began by introducing the state of current knowledge on resilience and youth in Lebanon in the illustration of resilience, in the concern for human life and the dynamics of future projects as well as in the presentation of different objectives and perspectives of the youth group project. Resilience and Youth are two terms that predict a future to build together. Assuming that young people are the makers of tomorrow and that today’s students and young professionals will be future decision-makers, this Round Table took as a starting point the resilient context of Lebanon in order to continue in a dynamic of construction of future with young people.<\/span><\/p>\n

She insisted along this roundtable on the reciprocity of resilience between Lebanon as \u2018country message\u2019 and France the \u2018nation of light \u2018in their secular friendship and exchanges. She demonstrated the importance given to Youth of Lebanese Expansion through Lebolution that the WLCU organizes every two years by bringing the Lebanese youth of the world to Lebanon in the quest to find their roots and recreate the links with the land and the culture of their ancestors. The youth think tank project is to start in France before being transposed by the WLCU to the other countries of the Lebanese expansion.<\/span><\/p>\n

Resilience was illustrated by the intervention and film on the sculpture of Mr. Charles Nassar, artist, using shrapnel as raw material for artistic creation of Lebanese motifs of cultural belonging and who spoke about works as a way to show the world what Lebanon produced from destruction material that war has bequeathed to it.<\/span><\/p>\n

Mr. Antoine Iskandar, French-Lebanese engineer and manager of the investment fund Melanion, spoke about his participation in the first Lebanese team to have participated in the Dakar Rally in January 2018 for the benefit of the Anta Akhi association for mentally deficient adults, supported by the Lebanese ambassador in France, the French President as well as by WLCU’s World Cultural Commission and Latin America Council. Around Antoine Iskandar and his teammate Jad Comair, the WLCU Latin America youth came together to help host this event where Lebanon was represented. This initiative illustrates the possibility of federating the Lebanese around the world around a project that has a patriotic meaning that puts Lebanon in the spotlight.<\/span><\/p>\n

SEM. Rami Adwan expresses his refusal of the Hegelian repetition by adopting the initiatives that will put the embassy at the heart of the services to the Lebanese community throughout France. After the success of the legislative elections, he continues to gather the Lebanese and especially youth at the heart of the action by creating a pole “Youth and Universities” within the embassy. His Excellency expressed the importance of the Lebanon days (JDL) event and this Round Table around Youth and the launch of the Youth think group.<\/span><\/p>\n

Mr. Jamil Chalak, Magistrate and Director of Radio Orient in France, addressed the issue of living together and fighting with education, culture and the economy to never again relive a war and mourn the dead. The young Lebanese are well integrated in host countries, but a lot of work is also needed to facilitate their return to Lebanon, where they can find alternatives for the future.<\/span><\/p>\n

Miss Josephine Bichareil, young student in photography in Paris, discusses her experience of her stay in Lebanon in April 2018, which she illustrated with a photo exhibition at JDL 2018 for youth. She showed by the photos the correlation between the poles and wires of generators in Lebanon and the tension of insecurity experienced by young Lebanese.<\/span><\/p>\n

A discussion between SEM. Rami Adwan and the audience was very interactive at the level of young and adults, notably Joe Abi Fram (4th year Centrale Supelec) and Dr. Charbel Maroun (University researcher Professor), Layale Massarra (Aquic\u00e8dre) and others who \"\"transmitted their worries and their hesitations to return to Lebanon as well as the links and the image they give to the French of Lebanon. His excellence has addressed the diversity of discourses between young and adults. According to him, the only common point of the speech to be adopted is Lebanon: Teach the Arabic to children, avoid sacrificing a new generation in Europe after that of the sixties to 2000. The children of this migrant generation are crucial generation and responsibility of the Embassy is not to lose touch and to discover the meaning that these young Lebanese have of Lebanon by first identifying the support of parents and Lebanese already settled in France. He made the commitment not to stop before understanding what Lebanon means for young people, to do cultural activities in schools, in Lebanese and French structures to promote Lebanon through all elements of cultural heritage.<\/span><\/p>\n

He encouraged students\u00a0in some high-tech sectors, <\/span><\/span> to stay in France to develop their knowledge and recognition of their potential to meet the challenges with greater hopes and help to improve the different sectors in Lebanon and the operating methods of individuals and structures by building the France – Lebanon bridges while remaining faithful to their Lebanity.<\/span><\/p>\n

In conclusion, Dr. Saliba invited the youth to join the project of the Youth group to which they had unanimously adhered, hoping to set up the necessary organization for its growth and continuity.<\/span><\/p>\n

Moussa Ghanem, la commission culturelle mondiale de l\u2019ULCM a anim\u00e9 le 19 mai 2018 une table ronde autour de \u00ab\u00a0R\u00e9silience et Jeunesse Franco-Libanaise\u00a0: d\u2019une dynamique d\u2019amiti\u00e9 aux projets d\u2019avenir France-Liban\u00a0\u00bb organis\u00e9e par Dr Christiane Saliba la responsable de cette commission et de M. Les participants \u00e0 cette table ronde \u00e9taient SEM. Rami Adwan ambassadeur du Liban en France, Dr. Christiane Saliba (intervenante et mod\u00e9ratrice), l\u2019artiste Charles Nassar, Ing\u00e9nieur et homme d\u2019affaires Antoine Iskandar, avec la contribution de M. Jamil Chalak, magistrat et directeur de Radio Orient en France et Melle Jos\u00e9phine Bichareil. Les interventions \u00e9taient suivies par une discussion interactive des intervenants avec le jeune public \u00e9tudiant et les jeunes sortants universitaires.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

L\u2019objectif de cette table ronde est d\u2019illustrer le potentiel de la jeunesse Franco-Libanaise (FL)\/ Fran\u00e7aise (F)\/ Libanaise (L) dans le soutien d\u2019un Liban r\u00e9silient afin de mettre en place un cercle de r\u00e9flexion et d\u2019action des Jeunes permettant la mise en place d\u2019une plateforme d\u2019\u00e9changes et d\u2019entraide mutuelle de comp\u00e9tences et de projets entre la France et le Liban. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Ce projet contribue \u00e0 l\u2019id\u00e9e de plateforme des forces vives d\u00e9j\u00e0 \u00e9mise au cours d\u2019une table ronde des JDL 2016 anim\u00e9e et organis\u00e9e par Dr Saliba et M. Massih intitul\u00e9e \u00ab\u00a0Quelle interaction novatrice des forces vives de la nation libanaise entre les libanais du Liban et les Libanais du monde\u00a0?\u00a0\u00bb R\u00e9flexions et plaidoyer pour la mise en place d\u2019une dynamique de \u00ab\u00a0plateforme des charismes\u00a0\u00bb, utile pour le pays et son avenir\u00a0\u00bb avec la participation de Professeur Jean-Marc Ayoubi et Ma\u00eetre Carol Saba.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Dr. Saliba a commenc\u00e9 par introduire l\u2019\u00e9tat de connaissances actuelles sur la r\u00e9silience et la jeunesse au Liban dans l\u2019illustration de la r\u00e9silience, dans le souci de la vie humaine et de la dynamique des projets d\u2019avenir ainsi que dans la pr\u00e9sentation des diff\u00e9rents objectifs et perspectives du projet du cercle des jeunes. R\u00e9silience et Jeunesse sont deux termes qui pr\u00e9disent un avenir \u00e0 construire ensemble. Partant du principe que les jeunes sont les faiseurs de demain et que les \u00e9tudiants et jeunes professionnels d\u2019aujourd\u2019hui seront de futurs d\u00e9cideurs, cette Table Ronde a pris comme essor le contexte r\u00e9silient du Liban afin de continuer dans une dynamique de construction d\u2019avenir avec les Jeunes.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Elle a insist\u00e9 le long de cette Table Ronde sur la r\u00e9ciprocit\u00e9 de la R\u00e9silience entre le Liban pays message et la France nation lumi\u00e8re dans leurs liens d\u2019amiti\u00e9 et d\u2019\u00e9changes s\u00e9culaires. Elle a d\u00e9montr\u00e9 l\u2019importance donn\u00e9e \u00e0 la Jeunesse de l\u2019expansion Libanaise \u00e0 travers Lebolution que l\u2019ULCM organise tous les deux ans en ramenant les jeunes Libanais du monde au Liban dans la qu\u00eate de retrouver leurs racines et recr\u00e9er les liens avec la terre et la culture de leurs anc\u00eatres. Le projet de cercle des jeunes est \u00e0 d\u00e9marrer en France avant de le transposer par l\u2019ULCM vers les autres pays de l\u2019expansion libanaise.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

La r\u00e9silience \u00e9tait illustr\u00e9e par l\u2019intervention et le film sur la sculpture de M. M. Antoine Iskandar, Ing\u00e9nieur Franco-Libanais et g\u00e9rant du fonds d\u2019investissement Melanion, t\u00e9moigne de sa participation \u00e0 la premi\u00e8re \u00e9quipe Libanaise \u00e0 avoir particip\u00e9 au Rallye Dakar en Janvier 2018 au profit de l\u2019association Anta Akhi pour personnes d\u00e9ficientes mentales adultes, soutenue par l\u2019ambassadeur du Liban en France, du Pr\u00e9sident fran\u00e7ais ainsi que par la commission culturelle mondiale et le conseil de l\u2019Am\u00e9rique Latine de l\u2019ULCM.\u00a0 Autour d\u2019Antoine Iskandar et de son \u00e9quipier Jad Comair, la jeunesse de l\u2019ULCM de l\u2019Am\u00e9rique Latine s\u2019est retrouv\u00e9e pour contribuer \u00e0 l\u2019accueil de cet \u00e9v\u00e9nement o\u00f9 le Liban \u00e9tait repr\u00e9sent\u00e9. Cette initiative illustre la possibilit\u00e9 de faire f\u00e9d\u00e9rer les Libanais dans le monde autour d\u2019un projet qui a un sens patriotique mettant le Liban \u00e0 l\u2019honneur.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

SEM. Rami Adwan exprime son refus de \u00a0la r\u00e9p\u00e9tition h\u00e9g\u00e9lienne en adoptant les initiatives qui mettront l\u2019ambassade au c\u0153ur des services \u00e0 rendre \u00e0 la communaut\u00e9 Libanaise partout en France. Apr\u00e8s la r\u00e9ussite des \u00e9lections l\u00e9gislatives, il continue \u00e0 rassembler les Libanais et notamment les jeunes au c\u0153ur de l\u2019action en cr\u00e9ant un p\u00f4le \u00ab\u00a0Jeunesse et Universit\u00e9s\u00a0\u00bb au sein de l\u2019ambassade. Son excellence a exprim\u00e9 l\u2019importance de l\u2019\u00e9v\u00e9nement JDL et de cette Table Ronde autour de la Jeunesse et du lancement du cercle des jeunes.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

M. Jamil Chalak, Magistrat et Directeur de Radio Orient en France, a abord\u00e9 la question du vivre ensemble et de se battre avec l\u2019\u00e9ducation, la culture et l\u2019\u00e9conomie pour ne plus jamais revivre une guerre et pleurer les morts. Les jeunes Libanais s\u2019exportent bien et s\u2019int\u00e8grent bien mais il faut \u00e9galement tout un travail pour faciliter leur retour au Liban o\u00f9 ils pourront retrouver des alternatives d\u2019avenir.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Selon lui, le seul point commun du discours \u00e0 adopter c\u2019est le Liban\u00a0: Enseigner l\u2019arabe \u00e0 ses enfants, \u00e9viter de sacrifier une nouvelle g\u00e9n\u00e9ration en Europe apr\u00e8s celle des ann\u00e9es soixante \u00e0\u00a0 2000. Les enfants de cette g\u00e9n\u00e9ration \u00e9migr\u00e9e sont la g\u00e9n\u00e9ration cruciale dont il est de la responsabilit\u00e9 de l\u2019ambassade de ne pas perdre contact et de d\u00e9couvrir le sens que ces jeunes Libanais ont du Liban en rep\u00e9rant d\u2019abord les soutiens des parents et des Libanais d\u00e9j\u00e0 install\u00e9s en France. Il a pris l\u2019engagement de ne pas s\u2019arr\u00eater avant de comprendre ce que le Liban veut dire pour les jeunes, faire des activit\u00e9s culturelles dans les \u00e9coles, dans les structures libanaises et fran\u00e7aises afin de promouvoir le Liban \u00e0 travers tous les \u00e9l\u00e9ments du patrimoine culturel. Il a encourag\u00e9 les \u00e9tudiants\u00a0dans certains secteurs de pointe, <\/span><\/span> \u00e0 rester en France pour d\u00e9velopper leur savoir et la reconnaissance de leur potentiel pour relever les d\u00e9fis avec des espoirs plus grands et contribuer \u00e0 faire am\u00e9liorer les diff\u00e9rents secteurs au Liban et les modes op\u00e9ratoires des individus et des structures en construisant les ponts France \u2013 Liban tout en restant fid\u00e8les \u00e0 leur Libanit\u00e9.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

En conclusion, Dr. Saliba a invit\u00e9 les jeunes pr\u00e9sents \u00e0 s\u2019inscrire au projet du cercle auquel ils avaient adh\u00e9r\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019unanimit\u00e9 en esp\u00e9rant mettre en place l\u2019organisation n\u00e9cessaire \u00e0 son essor et sa continuit\u00e9.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
