The Association Reconstruire Ensemble and the World Cultural Commission (WCC) of the World Lebanese Cultural Union (WLCU) organized a cultural and tourism day in the Kesrouan region on August 20, 2018 led by Dr. Christiane Saliba, President of the WCC-WLCU and Reconstruire Ensemble \u2013 Axis of Book, as part of a cultural project of encounter and discovery of different Lebanese regions, in their religious specificities, their cultural richness and their interactions with different civilizations on their land.<\/span><\/p>\n

The aim of this project is to discover the other, Lebanese resident or from abroad; to be together around a common memory\u00a0 to all Lebanese in their history of suffering, war and emigration.<\/span><\/p>\n

The group was composed of members from local or international associations (Lebanon, Africa, Italy, France).\"\"<\/span><\/p>\n

The program included visiting and discovering cultural, historical, handicraft and tourist sites in Keserwan. It was the discovery of a part of the Kesrouan region, to complete the other part in the years to come.<\/span><\/p>\n

The first stage included the Fouad Chehab Museum in Jounieh (inaugurated in 2016).\"\" The group was received by Mrs. Rana Kamar,\u00a0 \"\"the director of the museum. A documentary is projected on the President Chehab, the statesman and on all the restoration carried out of his residence by the order of the Lebanese Maronite monks, owner of the place, to transform it into a museum which celebrates the national achievements of this great man and fosters the hope of building a strong Lebanese state.<\/span><\/p>\n

The group then arrived at the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik \"\"where he was greeted by the Director of the University Library Father Joseph Moukarzel and his assistant Ms. Randa Chidiac and the Director of the Phoenix Center for Lebanese Studies Mr. Carlos Youn\u00e8s.\"\" It was the discovery of the historical archives of the Ottoman era, the works of the great Lebanese writers and artists like Kamal Salibi, Jamil Badr, Gibran Khalil Gibran, Jaudat Haidar, Wadih El Safi, Salah Tizani and the visit of the restoration workshops Ancient manuscripts and films …\"\" An interactive conference took place on the history of Mount Lebanon, the silk trade, Greater Lebanon 1920 and the Lebanese emigration led by Dr. Elie Elias. \"\"A trophy is offered at the Phoenix Center by Father Maroun Atallah, founder of Reconstruire Ensemble and Dr. Christiane Saliba, praising the Center’s tireless scientific work to preserve the Lebanese heritage.<\/span><\/p>\n

The group then went to the Municipality of Zouk Mika\u00ebl where it is hosted by the President of the Municipality Mr. Elias Beainou and the director of the center of youth and culture of Municipality \u00a0Ms. Roula Sawwane. A Zouk Mika\u00ebl History presentation is made and the focus was on the silk trade, its craft specialties including traditional weaving NOL and Zouk dessert (Marsepan and Samboussik almonds \/ walnuts). The visit of the amphitheater made it possible\"\" to discover the artistic work with this weaving exposed along its walls as well as the techniques of this weaving by \"\"Mrs. Sanaa Hani who invited\u00a0 the group to her workshop in the old Souk of Zouk in giving him a demonstration of the techniques of this difficult and meticulous \"\"weaving. P. Maroun Atallah offered to President Beainou the collection of the Oriental Heritage published by Reconstruire Ensemble and Geuthner France and Miss Cassandra Mehanna Miss Lebanon-France 2018, who accompanied the group during this day, offered him a trophy and \"\"insisted on the importance of discovering the Lebanese heritage to the youth of Lebanese origin in the world, in order to preserve it in its richness and its specificities.<\/span><\/p>\n

The group continued its journey to the Armenian Museum and Cultural Center – Armenian Convent of Bzommar (built in 1749) – Catholicosate of the Catholic Armenians of Cilicia. At the entrance was the Historical Icon of the Virgin Mary painted by the Italian artist Raphael. Father Moussa Donanian tells the group the story of the church, the convent, the persecutions and the progressive \"\"\"\"establishment of the museum. The famous monastery museum was built and inaugurated in 1963, bringing together all that the monks of the monastery brought back with Armenian artifacts from their numerous travels to safeguard the heritage of Armenia after the genocide. It also contains Papal and Patriarchate documents, precious coins, priestly garments adorned with silver, gold thread and ivory, manuscripts and rare items. Old agricultural tools, bells of the days of Armenian massacres tell all the genius of the Armenian people craftsman and creator. Mr. Georges Haddad, former director of primary education at the Lebanese Ministry of National Education, presented on behalf of the group a trophy of thanks to the convent.<\/span><\/p>\n

The stage of the convent of St Anthony the Great of Ain Warka – Ghosta was the stage 5 of this day. The Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament who have been caring for this convent for 50 years have warmly welcomed the group. The monastery was built in 1660, destroyed and \"\"rebuilt in 1698. In 1797, it was the seat of the First School and Maronite University in Lebanon like the Maronite School of Rome. School Called by Maroun Abboud \u2018Sorbonne d’Orient\u2019 where the pioneers of the Cultural Renaissance in Lebanon and the Middle East were trained. Mr. Anotine Stephan detailed the history of the convent, its historical importance, its cultural and educational \"\"heritage in the Maronite church. Mr. Edmond Abdul Massih, former President of the National Council of WLCU-France and Current Candidate for the World Presidency of the WLCU offers on behalf of the group the collection of the Oriental Heritage and a trophy of thanks to the Mother Superior Bekassini and Sister Claude Lahoud.<\/span><\/p>\n

The group then headed to St Maron Convent – Castle Rweiss and the Chnaniir Nature Reserve. He was then welcomed by the Abi Nasr Family, the owner of this convent since the 19th century (ancestor of former MP Neemtallah Abi Nasr), who detailed the history of the convent by visiting the site. General Pierre Abi Nasr, Director of the \"\"Chnaniir Nature Reserve explained to the group all the steps taken to preserve this natural heritage and legally transform it into a natural reserve to become the national headquarters of nature reserves in Lebanon. We were all proud to see former MP Neemtallah Abi Nasr coming to meet the group; he is the initiator of the Lebanese legislation defending the \"\"
\nLebanese abroad rights to exercise their rights of Lebanese citizens and the setting up of the day of the alphabet. Mr. Abi Nasr praised the importance of this visit and the great cultural heritage of Keserwan in the history of Lebanon. Mr. Kamal Tarabay, editor-in-chief of France 24 and Monte Carlo and Mr. Hayssam El Hajali, presented a trophy of thanks on behalf of the group to the Abi Nasr family for their cultural, heritage and tourist interest.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"This journey reaches its 6th stage at the Monastery of St Anthony of Padova, Beit Khichbaw – Ghazir. It was built in 1752; bought and restored in 1981 and became the seat of the Generalate of the Lebanese Maronite Order since 1989. A guided visit of the convent is made by Mrs. Rita El Khoury Director of wines ADYAR. A documentary on the history of ADYAR, its particular composition related to that of the Lebanese terroir, the sun of the \"\"coast and the Lebanese mountain. A tasting of this wine followed the visit and marked the uniqueness of this wine having already won international awards. Lawyer Rachid Al Jalkh, President of Reconstruire Ensemble, presented a thank you award on behalf of the group to Mrs. El Khoury and Dr. Saliba praised her efforts to promote this Lebanese wine and ADYAR’s participation to the Lebanese Days in Paris 2018.<\/span><\/p>\n

Un documentaire est projet\u00e9 sur le Pr\u00e9sident \u00a0Chehab, l\u2019homme d\u2019Etat \"\"et sur toute la restauration effectu\u00e9e de sa r\u00e9sidence par l\u2019ordre des Moines Libanais Maronites, propri\u00e9taire des lieux, \u00a0pour la transformer en un mus\u00e9e qui c\u00e9l\u00e8bre les r\u00e9alisations nationales de ce grand homme et nourrit l\u2019espoir de b\u00e2tir un \u00c9tat libanais fort.\"\"<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Le groupe arriva ensuite \u00e0 l\u2019Universit\u00e9 St Esprit de Kaslik<\/b> o\u00f9 il fut accueilli par le Directeur de la Biblioth\u00e8que universitaire le P\u00e8re Docteur Joseph Moukarzel et son adjointe Mme Randa Chidiac et le Directeur du centre Phoenix<\/b> pour les \u00e9tudes Libanaises M. Carlos Youn\u00e8s. C\u2019\u00e9tait la d\u00e9couverte des archives historiques de l\u2019\u00e9poque Ottomane, les \u0153uvres des grands \u00e9crivains et artistes Libanais comme \"\"Kamal Salibi, Jamil Badr, Gibran Khalil Gibran, Jaoudat Haidar, Wadih El Safi, Salah Tizani ainsi que la visite des ateliers de restauration d\u2019archives et de films anciens\u2026 Une conf\u00e9rence interactive eut lieu sur l\u2019histoire du Mont Liban, du commerce de la soie, du Grand Liban 1920 et de l\u2019\u00e9migration Libanaise anim\u00e9e par Dr Elie Elias. Un troph\u00e9e de remerciement est offert au Centre Phoenix par Le P\u00e8re Maroun Atallah fondateur de Reconstruire Ensemble et Dr. Christiane Saliba en louant le travail scientifiue sans rel\u00e2che du centre pour pr\u00e9server le patrimoine Libanais.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Le groupe se dirigea ensuite vers la Municipalit\u00e9 de Zouk Mika\u00ebl<\/b> o\u00f9 il est accueilli par le Pr\u00e9sident de la Municipalit\u00e9 M. Elias Beainou et la directrice du centre des jeunes et de la culture de la Municiplait\u00e9 Mme Roula Sawwane. Une pr\u00e9sentation de l\u2019histoire de Zouk Mika\u00ebl
\n\"\"est faite et l\u2019accent est mis sur le commerce de la soie, \u00a0ses sp\u00e9cialit\u00e9s artisanales notamment le tissage traditionnel le\u00a0 NOL et le dessert du Zouk (Marsepan et Samboussik aux amandes\/noix). La visite de l\u2019amphith\u00e9\u00e2tre a permis de d\u00e9couvrir les toiles travaill\u00e9es avec ce \"\"tissage expos\u00e9es le long de ses murs ainsi que les techniques de ce tissage par Mme Sanaa Hani qui fera visiter au groupe son atelier au sein de l\u2019ancien Souk de Zouk en lui faisant une d\u00e9monstration des techniques de ce tissage difficile et minutieux. P. Maroun Atallah a offert au Pr\u00e9sident Beainou la collection du Patrimoine oriental \u00e9dit\u00e9e par Reconstruire Ensemble et Geuthner France et Melle Cassandra Mehanna Miss Liban-France 2018, qui accompagna le groupe le long de\"\" cette journ\u00e9e, lui offre un troph\u00e9e de remerciement en insistant sur l\u2019importance de faire d\u00e9couvrir le patrimoine Libanais \u00e0 la jeunesse d\u2019origine libanaise dans le monde, afin de le pr\u00e9server dans sa richesse et ses sp\u00e9cificit\u00e9s.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Le groupe continua son p\u00e9riple vers le <\/span>Mus\u00e9e et Centre Culturel Arm\u00e9niens \u2013 Couvent Arm\u00e9nien de Bzommar (construit en 1749) – Catholicossat des Arm\u00e9niens Catholiques de Cilicie. A l\u2019entr\u00e9e se trouvait l\u2019Ic\u00f4ne Historique de la Vierge Marie peinte par l\u2019artiste italien Rapha\u00ebl.\u00a0 P. Moussa Donanian relate au groupe l\u2019histoire de l\u2019\u00e9glise, du couvent, des pers\u00e9cutions et de la mise en place progressive du mus\u00e9e.<\/span> Le c\u00e9l\u00e8bre mus\u00e9e du monast\u00e8re a \u00e9t\u00e9 construit et inaugur\u00e9 en 1963 en r\u00e9unissant tout ce que les religieux du monast\u00e8re ont ramen\u00e9 d’objets arm\u00e9niens de leurs nombreux voyages pour sauvegarder le patrimoine de l’Arm\u00e9nie apr\u00e8s le g\u00e9nocide. Il comporte \"\"\u00e9galement des documents de la Papaut\u00e9 et du patriarcat, des pi\u00e8ces de monnaie pr\u00e9cieuses, des v\u00eatements sacerdotaux orn\u00e9s avec de l’argent, de fil d’or et de l’ivoire, des manuscrits et des objets \"\"rares. De vieux outils agricoles, des cloches des jours des massacres d’Arm\u00e9niens disent tout le g\u00e9nie du peuple arm\u00e9nien artisan et cr\u00e9ateur. M. Georges Haddad, ancien directeur de l’enseignement primaire au sein du minist\u00e8re Libanais de l’Education nationale offrit au nom du groupe un troph\u00e9e de remerciement au couvent.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

L\u2019\u00e9tape du couvent de St Antoine le Grand de Ain Warka – Ghosta constitua l\u2019\u00e9tape 5 de cette journ\u00e9e. Les s\u0153urs du saint Sacrement qui s\u2019occupent de ce couvent depuis 50 ans ont accueilli chaleureusement le groupe. Le monast\u00e8re a \u00e9t\u00e9 construit<\/span><\/span> en 1660, d\u00e9truit et reconstruit en 1698. En 1797, Ce fut le si\u00e8ge de la Premi\u00e8re Ecole et Universit\u00e9 Maronite au Liban \u00e0 l\u2019instar de l\u2019\u00c9cole Maronite de \"\"Rome. <\/b>\u00c9cole Appel\u00e9e par Maroun Abboud \u00a0la Sorbonne d\u2019Orient<\/b>\u00a0 o\u00f9 \u00e9taient form\u00e9s les pionniers de la Renaissance Culturelle au Liban et au Moyen Orient. Monsieur Anotine Stephan d\u00e9tailla l\u2019histoire du couvent, son importance historique, son patrimoine culturel et d\u2019enseignement au sein de l\u2019\u00e9glise maronite. \"\"M. Edmond Abdul Massih, ancien pr\u00e9sident du conseil national de l\u2019ULCM-France et Candidat actuel \u00e0 la Pr\u00e9sidence Mondiale de l\u2019ULCM offre au nom du groupe la collection du Patrimoine oriental de reconstruire Ensemble ainsi qu\u2019un troph\u00e9e de remerciement \u00e0 la m\u00e8re Sup\u00e9rieure Bekassini et \u00e0 S\u0153ur Claude Lahoud.<\/span><\/p>\n

Le groupe se dirigea par la suite vers le couvent St Maron \u2013 Ch\u00e2teau Rweiss et la r\u00e9serve naturelle de Chnaniir. Il est alors accueilli par la Famille Abi Nasr propri\u00e9taire de ce couvent depuis le 19\u00e8me<\/sup> si\u00e8cle (anc\u00eatre de l\u2019ancien d\u00e9put\u00e9 Neemtallah Abi Nasr), qui d\u00e9tailla l\u2019histoire du couvent en faisant visiter les lieux. Le G\u00e9n\u00e9ral Pierre Abi Nasr, Directeur de la r\u00e9serve naturelle de Chnaniir expliqua au groupe toutes les \u00e9tapes franchies pour pr\u00e9server ce patrimoine naturel et le transformer l\u00e9galement en une r\u00e9serve naturelle appel\u00e9e \u00e0 devenir le si\u00e8ge national des r\u00e9serves naturelles au Liban. Nous \u00e9tions tous fiers de retrouver l\u2019ancien d\u00e9put\u00e9 Neemtallah Abi Nasr venu \u00e0 la rencontre du groupe\u00a0; il est \"\"l\u2019initiateur des l\u00e9gislations Libanaises d\u00e9fendant les droits des Libanais de l\u2019expansion \u00e0 exercer leurs droits de citoyens Libanais et la mise en place de la journ\u00e9e de l\u2019alphabet. M. Abi Nasr louait l\u2019importance de cette visite et le grand h\u00e9ritage culturel du Kesrouan dans l\u2019histoire du Liban. M. Kamal Tarabay, r\u00e9dacteur en chef de France 24 et de Monte Carlo et M. Hayssam El Hajali offrirent un troph\u00e9e de remerciement au nom du groupe \u00e0 la famille Abi Nasr pour leur int\u00e9r\u00eat culturel, patrimonial et touristique.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ce p\u00e9riple atteint sa 7e \u00e9tape au Monast\u00e8re St Antoine de Padoue, Beit Khichbaw \u2013 Ghazir. Il a \u00e9t\u00e9 construit en 1752; rachet\u00e9 et restaur\u00e9 en 1981 et devenu si\u00e8ge du G\u00e9n\u00e9ralat de l\u2019Ordre Libanais Maronite depuis 1989. Une Visite Guid\u00e9e du couvent est faite par \"\"Mme Rita El khoury Directrice des vins ADYAR. Un documentaire sur l\u2019histoire de \u00a0ADYAR, sa composition particuli\u00e8re li\u00e9e \u00e0 celle du terroir Libanais, du soleil de la c\u00f4te et de la montagne Libanaise. Une d\u00e9gustation de ce vin suivit la visite et marqua l\u2019unicit\u00e9 de ce vin ayant d\u00e9j\u00e0 gagn\u00e9 des prix internationaux. Ma\u00eetre Rachid Al Jalkh, Pr\u00e9sident de Reconstruire Ensemble pr\u00e9senta un troph\u00e9e de remerciement au nom du groupe \u00e0 Mme El Khoury et Dr. Saliba loua ses efforts de promotion de ce vin Libanais et la participation de ADYAR aux Journ\u00e9es du Liban 2018 \u00e0 Paris.<\/span><\/p>\n

La cl\u00f4ture de cette journ\u00e9e fut festive \u00e0 ALLURE \u2013 Jounieh dans le cadre d\u2019une soir\u00e9e et d\u2019un d\u00eener musical dansant aux sons du OUD ainsi qu\u2019une animation de danse latine et grecque avec le professeur de danse M. Joe Zaklit de l\u2019Acad\u00e9mie Libanaise de Danse.\"\"<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
