The 21st WLCU World Congress was held in Paris, France<\/strong> on the 7th and 8th of September 2018. This two-day gathering of WLCU Officials, dignified guests, representatives and members where the youth proudly played their part! was held under the chairmanship of WLCU World President Elias Kassab as well as the presence<\/span> of World Secretary General Wissam Azzi.<\/p>\n

Quite a few topics were spoken of during the two-day conference, the youth proudly playing their part! The youth had the opportunity during the congress to share their progress<\/span> and initiatives with the captivated audience. The WLCU World Council for the Youth\u2019s President Mr. Sergio de los R\u00edos Feghali and Secretary General Ms. Christina Salamy presented a PowerPoint on \u201cLEBolution\u201d, giving a general description of the experience, its purpose, sharing some statistics from last year as well as dedicating some time to play the official LEBolution 2017 video which brought excitement and pride to everyone in the room.<\/p>\n

They also spoke about the state of the youth around the world and the affiliated chapters to date, as well as briefing on a few of the World Youth council\u2019s current and on-going projects. Also taking the floor in the name of the youth<\/span>, were WLCU UN Youth representatives Mr. Alec Naaman and Ms. Rita Houkayem who gave a brief report on the WLCU\u2019s affiliation with the UN\u2019s Department of Public Information and produced the decision to focus efforts, knowledge, and practices on fostering exchanges that will promote disabled Lebanese citizens\u2019 access to a life of self determination.<\/p>\n

As well, Mr. Philippe Bhanna and Mr. Antoine Sarouf representing Club Culturel de la Jeunesse Franco Libanaise (CCJFL) and WLCU Youth Representative in France Mr. Younane Nassif spoke on behalf of the youth in France and informed the audience on a few outstanding initiatives put forth in the past few months including Journ\u00e9es du Liban which took place in May of 2018 and an initiative<\/span> organized by CCJFL where a group of Lebanese Youth biked through trails, exploring Lebanon in a different way. The youth surely left there impact on the congress attendees, giving hope for a brighter Lebanon.<\/p>\n

Se habl\u00f3 de algunos temas durante la conferencia de dos d\u00edas, \u00a1los j\u00f3venes orgullosamente interpretaron su papel! Los j\u00f3venes tuvieron la oportunidad durante el congreso de compartir su progreso<\/span> e iniciativas con la cautivada audiencia. El Consejo Mundial de la WLCU para el Presidente de la Juventud, Sr. Sergio de los R\u00edos Feghali, y la Secretaria General, Sra. Christina Salamy, presentaron una presentaci\u00f3n en PowerPoint sobre “LEBolution”, dando una descripci\u00f3n general de la experiencia, su prop\u00f3sito, compartiendo algunas estad\u00edsticas del a\u00f1o pasado y dedicando algo de tiempo para jugar el video oficial de LEBolution 2017 que trajo emoci\u00f3n y orgullo a todos en la sala.<\/p>\n

Tambi\u00e9n hablaron sobre el estado de los j\u00f3venes en todo el mundo y los cap\u00edtulos afiliados<\/span> hasta la fecha, as\u00ed como tambi\u00e9n sobre algunos de los proyectos actuales y en curso del Consejo Mundial de la Juventud.<\/p>\n

Tambi\u00e9n tomaron la palabra en nombre del joven, fueron representantes de la Juventud de las Naciones Unidas de la ULCM el Sr. Alec Naaman y la Sra. Rita Houkayem quienes dieron un breve informe<\/span> sobre la afiliaci\u00f3n de la WLCU con el Departamento de Informaci\u00f3n P\u00fablica de las Naciones Unidas y tomaron la decisi\u00f3n de enfocar esfuerzos, conocimiento , y pr\u00e1cticas sobre el fomento de intercambios que promover\u00e1n el acceso de los ciudadanos libaneses discapacitados a una vida de autodeterminaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n

A su vez, el Sr. Philippe Bhanna y el Sr. Antoine Sarouf que representa el Club Cultural de la Jeunesse Franco Libanaise (CCJFL) y representante de la juventud en Francia ULCM Sr. Younane Nassif hablaron en nombre de la juventud en Francia e informaron al p\u00fablico en algunas iniciativas destacadas presentado en los \u00faltimos meses, incluyendo Journ\u00e9es du Liban, que tuvo lugar en mayo de 2018, y una iniciativa<\/span> organizada por CCJFL, donde un grupo de j\u00f3venes libaneses recorri\u00f3 en bicicleta los senderos, explorando el L\u00edbano de otra manera. La juventud seguramente dej\u00f3 all\u00ed su impacto en los asistentes al congreso, dando esperanza para un L\u00edbano m\u00e1s brillante.<\/p>\n
