The World President of the World Lebanese Cultural Union, Mr. Roger Hani, responded to the official invitation of the President of the Dominican Republic, Mr. Luis Abinader, to participate to his investiture for a second term after winning over 60% of the vote. Mr. Hani took part in the celebrations held on August 15 and 16, alongside several heads of state, the King of Spain, and numerous prominent political and economic personalities.<\/p>\n

On August 16, at the invitation of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr. Ricardo de los Santos, Mr. Hani attended the oath-taking ceremony of President Abinader and Vice President Raquel Pe\u00f1a de Rodr\u00edguez, which took place in the parliamentary hall in the presence of dignitaries from around the world. In his speech, President Abinader reviewed the achievements of his first term, emphasizing his commitment to continuing economic reforms, infrastructure development, improving public services, and strengthening the fight against corruption.<\/p>\n

That evening, Mr. Roger Hani attended a private dinner at the Presidential Palace, hosted by President Abinader and the First Lady. During this event, he discussed the current situation in Lebanon with several political figures and businessmen of Lebanese descent, including the Dominican Republic’s Ambassador to Turkey, Engineer Elvis Alam. The discussions focused on the possibility of reviving Lebanon’s economy, particularly through the recovery of embezzled funds belonging to the Lebanese diaspora. The participants expressed their willingness to reinvest in Lebanon once political stability is restored with the election of a new President.<\/p>\n

During his visit, Mr. Hani also met with the Lebanese Ambassador to Venezuela and Dean of the Arab Diplomatic Corps, Mr. Elias Lebbos, to discuss the situation of the Lebanese community in the region, especially in Venezuela.
