NNA- The President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, affirmed that “enhancing communication with the younger generation of Lebanese emigrants is an important factor in maintaining relations between Lebanon’s residents and the Lebanese diaspora,” pointing out that “Lebanese expatriates are a strong pillar for the Lebanese economy due to their attachment to their homeland and their support for their families during the difficult times Lebanon has gone through.”<\/p>\n

President Aoun’s statement came during his meeting at the Baabda Palace with the world president of the WLCU, Mr. Roger Hani, the world Secretary General, Mr. George Abi Raad, the President of the World Youth Council, Mrs. Guadalupe Bolanos, and the Deputy Secretary General, Mr. Christian Nasr. They briefed him on the organization of the World Youth Council, which, as usual every two years, arranges a visit for youth to Lebanon under the initiative known as Lebolution. This year, around 120 young men and women, of Lebanese descent, will visit Lebanon, coming from various countries of the diaspora. Their visit itinerary includes sightseeing, cultural, and historical landmarks, covering all Lebanese regions.<\/p>\n

The delegation requested “that this activity be under the patronage of the President of the Republic, as the visit coincides with the meeting of the WLCU World Council in Beirut.”<\/p>\n

Mr. Hani told President Aoun: “Your support enables the Youth Council to continue its mission of bringing youth of Lebanese descent and strengthening Lebanese cultural ties in their hearts so that they return to their communities as messengers of love and support for Lebanon. May God bless you and grant you strength and wisdom in your rescue mission.”<\/p>\n
