 <\/strong>Subject: It is necessary to have an ID card or a valid passport in order to participate in the 2026 elections<\/strong><\/p>\n

Please make sure to take advantage of your upcoming trips to Lebanon to obtain an ID card or valid passport<\/strong>\u2014if you do not currently have either\u2014in order to be able to vote from abroad in the 2026 Lebanese parliamentary elections.<\/p>\n

To apply for an ID card, the required documents are listed at the following Ministry of Interior link (in Arabic):<\/p>\n

For your information, the Media Affairs Office of the Directorate General of General Security issued the following statement:
\n\u201cThe Directorate General of General Security reminds citizens of the processing times for obtaining Lebanese passports, as follows:
\n\u2013 An expedited Lebanese passport application submitted at the Public Relations Office: 48 hours.
\n\u2013 An expedited Lebanese passport application submitted at the regional center: 7 working days.
\n\u2013 A regular Lebanese passport application submitted at the regional center: 30 working days.\u201d<\/p>\n
