Lebanon remains the proxy battlefield of Iran, Syria and Israel while its people are bearing the brunt with their suffering.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 We denounce the role of Iran and Syria in dictating the war and peace decisions in Lebanon.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>3.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 We demand an immediate halt to the Israeli shelling on civilian targets and the infrastructure of the country.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>4.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 We call for a\u00a0 lasting cease-fire that should produce a permanent peace rather than a temporary remedy as we support reinforcing the UN forces with NATO troops to impose a temporary stability, simultaneous with the deployment of Lebanese troops into southern Lebanon .<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>5.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 We demand the immediate and full enforcement of the UNSC Resolution 1559 calling for the disarmament of all armed groups, namely Hizbollah and the Palestinians, and the deployment of the Lebanese army to assert its role all over the Lebanese territory.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>6.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 We support the Lebanese Government in its political, economical and humanitarian efforts to cope with the current situation.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>7.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 As supplies of medicine are tight at many hospitals and fuel is slowly running out, we call for immediate humanitarian relief efforts for the displaced and the refugees in temporary shelters.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>8.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 We stress on retracing the borders between Lebanon and Syria and to reach a United Nations sponsored solution for Chebaa farms.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>9.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 We reiterate our demand to release the Lebanese detainees in Syrian and Israeli jails.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>10.\u00a0 We stress on the need to revert to the 1949 Armistice Agreement.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" align=\"left\">\n<p dir=\"rtl\">We Consider the kidnapping of the Israeli soldiers and the timing of such an operation as part of an Iranian agenda to divert the world attention from its nuclear program while galvanizing the cause of radical Islamism in the entire region, and a Syrian attempt to derail the National Dialogue, the International Tribunal and the\u00a0 investigations related to\u00a0 the assassination of the late Prime Minister Hariri, and a message from the Assad regime who promised to destroy Lebanon if his troops withdraw from the country.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>www.wlcu.world Office of the world President 550 South Hill street, Suite 715A &#8211; Los Angeles, CA 90013 &#8211; USA Office: 1-800-700-WLCU or 213-629-9282\u00a0 &#8211; Cell 909-630-2575 Fax 213-629-2130 EMail: anise333@aol.com July 25th 2006 In reaction to the latest tragic developments in Lebanon and after excessive consultations with members of the World Council, the World Lebanese &#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"ngg_post_thumbnail":0,"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[37],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-2905","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-press-release"],"jetpack_featured_media_url":"","jetpack_sharing_enabled":true,"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/wlcu.world\/ng\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/2905","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/wlcu.world\/ng\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/wlcu.world\/ng\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/wlcu.world\/ng\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/wlcu.world\/ng\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=2905"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/wlcu.world\/ng\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/2905\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/wlcu.world\/ng\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=2905"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/wlcu.world\/ng\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=2905"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/wlcu.world\/ng\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=2905"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
