A delegation from the World Lebanese Cultural Union, headed by Roger Hani and accompanied by Chairman of the Board of Trustees Michel Doueihy, Secretary-General Georges Abi Raad, and his deputy Christian Nassar, visited Minister of Justice Adel Nassar in his office at the ministry.
\nThe delegation thanked the Minister for the great efforts he has made during the first six months at the head of his ministry. They also discussed the current situation both locally and in the diaspora, and reviewed several issues of concern to Lebanese expatriates and those of Lebanese descent. Chief among them were the amendment of the parliamentary electoral law so that expatriates may vote for all members of Parliament instead of being limited to six seats, the extension of the deadline for submitting applications to reclaim nationality, and the issue of depositors\u2019 funds.
\nFor his part, Minister Nassar explained to the delegation the ministry\u2019s transparent institutional work, free from political interference, while stressing the principle of separation of powers. He also briefed the delegation on a media campaign to be launched soon to shed light on the ministry\u2019s work.<\/p>\n
