The World Lebanese Cultural Union \u2013 France (ULCM) was delighted to visit His Excellency the new Ambassador of Lebanon to France, Mr. Rabih El Chaer, to extend its warmest congratulations and best wishes for success in his new duties.<\/p>\n

This meeting was held in the presence of Consul Lara Daou and the WLCU World Secretary General, Mr. Georges Abi Raad, reaffirming the complementarity and coordination of our global network, and conveying the greetings of WLCU World President Mr. Roger Hani, who was absent due to professional commitments.<\/p>\n

The President of ULCM France, Mr. Ziad Chehab, presented the association\u2019s program, structured around three main pillars:
\n1. Promotion of Lebanese Culture.
\nULCM regularly organizes major cultural events in Paris (bringing together writers, artists, and speakers), as well as year-round outreach activities, including literary gatherings and emblematic celebrations.
\n2. Solidarity and Social Engagement
\nIn response to the crisis in Lebanon, ULCM has actively mobilized, with the support of the Embassy, for concrete actions to collect and ship medicines and humanitarian aid.
\n3. Civic Engagement of the Diaspora.
\nULCM France, together with all WLCU worldwide branches, is strongly committed to defending the civil rights of Lebanese expatriates, advocating for their full participation in legislative elections from abroad to elect the 128 members of the Lebanese Parliament.<\/p>\n

Mr. Georges Abi Raad, World Secretary General, also outlined the activities of the WLCU World Council, including the last meeting held in Chile and the upcoming visit to the Lebanese community in Australia in one week.<\/p>\n

To mark this friendly and supportive visit, ULCM had the privilege of offering a remarkable artwork \u2014 a donation from the talented Lebanese artist Maria Achmar, who also serves as Secretary General of ULCM France.<\/p>\n

This gesture stands as a powerful symbol of the diaspora\u2019s attachment to the homeland and of our commitment to promoting Lebanese art and culture internationally. We are proud to see this artwork now enriching the Embassy.<\/p>\n

We extend to His Excellency our best wishes for every success in his noble mission. <\/p>\n

Cette rencontre s\u2019est tenue en pr\u00e9sence du Consul Lara Daou, et du Secr\u00e9taire g\u00e9n\u00e9ral de l\u2019ULCM Monde, Monsieur Georges Abi Raad, r\u00e9affirmant la compl\u00e9mentarit\u00e9 et la coordination de notre r\u00e9seau mondial et faire part des salutations du pr\u00e9sident ULCM Monsieur Roger Hani, absent pour des raisons d\u2019engagements professionnels.<\/p>\n

Le pr\u00e9sident de l’ULCM France, Monsieur Ziad Chehab, a expos\u00e9 le programme de l’association, structur\u00e9 autour de trois piliers principaux :<\/p>\n

  1. Promotion de la Culture Libanaise<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    L’ULCM organise r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement des manifestations culturelles d’envergure \u00e0 Paris (r\u00e9unissant \u00e9crivains, artistes et conf\u00e9renciers) ainsi que des \u00e9v\u00e9nements de rayonnement tout au long de l’ann\u00e9e, dont des rencontres litt\u00e9raires et des c\u00e9l\u00e9brations embl\u00e9matiques.<\/p>\n

    1. Solidarit\u00e9 et Engagement Social<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      En r\u00e9ponse \u00e0 la crise au Liban, l’ULCM s’est mobilis\u00e9e activement, avec le soutien de l’Ambassade, pour des actions concr\u00e8tes de collecte et d’acheminement de m\u00e9dicaments et d’aide humanitaire.<\/p>\n

      1. Engagement Civique de la Diaspora<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        L’ULCM avec toutes les impl\u00e9mentations mondiales, s\u2019engage fortement dans la d\u00e9fense des droits civiques des Libanais de la diaspora, militant pour leur pleine et enti\u00e8re participation aux \u00e9lections l\u00e9gislatives depuis l\u2019\u00e9tranger en vue d’\u00e9lire les 128 d\u00e9put\u00e9s du Parlement libanais.<\/p>\n

        Le Secr\u00e9taire g\u00e9n\u00e9ral de l\u2019ULCM Monde, Georges Abi Raad, a \u00e9galement expos\u00e9 les activit\u00e9s du conseil mondial de l\u2019ULCM, notamment la derni\u00e8re r\u00e9union qui s\u2019est tenue au Chili et de la visite de la communaut\u00e9 libanaise en Australie qui aura lieu dans une semaine. <\/p>\n

        Pour marquer cette visite amicale et de soutien, l\u2019ULCM a eu le privil\u00e8ge d\u2019offrir un tableau artistique remarquable. Cette \u0153uvre est un don de l\u2019artiste libanaise de talent Maria Achmar, \u00e9galement Secr\u00e9taire g\u00e9n\u00e9rale de l\u2019ULCM France.<\/p>\n

        Ce geste constitue un symbole fort de l\u2019attachement de la diaspora \u00e0 la Patrie et de notre engagement \u00e0 promouvoir l\u2019art et la culture libanaise \u00e0 l\u2019international. Nous sommes fiers de voir aujourd\u2019hui l\u2019\u0153uvre enrichir l\u2019Ambassade.<\/p>\n
