World Lebanese Cultural Union
WLCU New York & New Jersey Chapters held their Annual Gala Dinner on 6 April 2013, honoring Lebanese, American and Emigrant personalities in recognition of their successes.
WLCU GRC president for North America engineer Francois Abu Neeman attended the ceremony representing WLCU WP Sheikh Michel Doueihi. Also was present, Ambassador Caroline Ziade of the Lebanese delegation at the United Nations, U.S. official Senator Martin Golden, WLCU Regional vice president for the United States Dr. Mohammed El Choum, President of New York chapter Dr. Wissam Howayek, President of New Jersey chapter engineer Murad Kario, the poet and writer Mr. Youssef Abdel Samad, WLCU officers and members from the two cities, and a large number of doctors, businessmen and representatives of the spiritual and social committees and WLCU friends.
In this ceremony, both chapters commemorated Ambassador Fouad Al Turk where Mrs. Leila Almouaalem received the honoring Statue of the Lebanese Emigrant.
They also commemorated the former GRC president Dr. Alfred Saad, where his wife Carole and their son Wassim received the honoring Statue of the Lebanese Emigrant.
WLCU also presented the honoring Statue of the Lebanese Emigrant to Dr. Jack Tohme in recognition of his services for the Lebanese community, lawyer and law professor Prof. Zuhayr Moghrabi and the inventor and chairman of the Lebanese scientists Union Professor Dr. Edgar Y. Choueiri.
Senator Golden presented to the WLCU and the three honorees official recognition letters from the state of New York. They also received letters of appreciation from Congressman Michael Grimm.
It is noted that the WLCU chapter in San Francisco and the Regional Council for North America are preparing for the reception of the World Council meeting to be held on April 25, in the presence of WP Sheikh Michel Doueihi WSG Mr. Toni Kaddissi, and WLCU officers from all continents.
