The Lebanese in Mexico celebrated the International Day of the Lebanese Emigrant – 8 March 2015

This past Sunday, march 8, 2015, the Mexican Lebanese community celebrated the international Day of the Lebanese Emigrant with an emotive event in which every member remembered with love and respect their parents, grandparents and great grandparents who arrived to this blessed land giving them a new safe and prosperous place to stay and enlarging the Lebanese territory around the world.

In the presence of the Lebanese Ambassador, the Lebanese consul Rudy Kazzi, the Maronite Bishop George Saad Abi Younes, the President of the Lebanese Club Jorge Serio and the President of the WLCU Alejandro Kuri Pheres, the community attended the holy mass in the memory of our emigrants and the announce of the winner of the Byblos award the most distinguished member in the field of science. 

 

After the formal speeches everyone was invited for a lunch at the club gardens in front of the first statue of the Lebanese Emigrant by artist Ramiz Barquet from which a replica is now in the port of Beirut and in many cities around the world”.
