World Lebanese Cultural Union
On May 5th, 2015, The WLCU California State Chapter hosted a dinner honoring Mr. Habib Jouka Moujaes, the Mayor of Dhour Shweir/ Ain Sindyaneh Municipality, for his contributions and management of the Miss Lebanese Emigrants Pageant that takes place every August in Lebanon. Miss Dina Nasr, Vice President of operations for the Miss Lebanese Emigrants was also present, and gave a brief description of the event meaning and value it conveys to Lebanon, and the Lebanese Diaspora.
The General Consul of Lebanon, Mr. Johnny Ibrahim, who was also our guest at the dinner, introduced Mr. Moujaes and Miss Nasr and spoke of their respective work and accomplishments for the Miss Lebanese Emigrants Pageant
Mr. Ferris Wehbe, President of the California State Chapter, presented Mr. Moujaes with a Certificate from The City of Los Angeles, signed by Mr. Mitch O’ Farrel, Councilman, welcoming him to the city of angels and emphasizing the benefits of collaboration between our two cities.
The WLCU role, spirit, and objectives were stressed throughout the evening, which gave this gathering a feeling of unity, affinity for Lebanon, and respect to all those who work and sacrifice for the common good.
