Scholarships for SINARC’s Online Arabic Program, an Initiative from WLCU North America and WLCU Youth

On October 2019, the WLCU Youth signed a Memorandum of Understanding with LAU to support mutual efforts and initiatives focused on the Arabic language and Lebanese dialect. To continue to support the cultural formation of the Lebanese youth in the diaspora, the WLCU’s North America regional council has teamed up with the WLCU Youth to offer a series of scholarships for SINARC’s Online Arabic program.

SINARC’s Study Arabic Online is a program that simulates a classroom setting using all the latest tools for effective virtual language acquisition. The program provides a number of credit-based and non-credit based course options on various levels for students interested in Arabic as a second language only and not toward earning a degree at LAU. All courses are organized and divided according to ACTFL standards and are delivered using various online learning platforms. WLCU North America will hold an essay contest in which participants are to respond to the question “As Lebanese youth abroad, what does Lebanon mean to you?“. Winners of the contest will be awarded a scholarship for one SINARC course in the session running from April 5th to May 28th, 2021.
Essays are to be submitted in PDF format by participants before the March 14th deadline, and will be evaluated by a panel of judges from the WLCU North America regional council.
