World Lebanese Cultural Union
A delegation from the World Lebanese Cultural Union, headed by Roger Hani and accompanied by Chairman of the Board of Trustees Michel Doueihy, Secretary-General Georges Abi Raad, and his deputy Christian Nassar, visited Minister of Justice Adel Nassar in his office at the ministry.
The delegation thanked the Minister for the great efforts he has made during the first six months at the head of his ministry. They also discussed the current situation both locally and in the diaspora, and reviewed several issues of concern to Lebanese expatriates and those of Lebanese descent. Chief among them were the amendment of the parliamentary electoral law so that expatriates may vote for all members of Parliament instead of being limited to six seats, the extension of the deadline for submitting applications to reclaim nationality, and the issue of depositors’ funds.
For his part, Minister Nassar explained to the delegation the ministry’s transparent institutional work, free from political interference, while stressing the principle of separation of powers. He also briefed the delegation on a media campaign to be launched soon to shed light on the ministry’s work.
زار وفد من الجامعة اللبنانية الثقافية في العالم برئاسة روجيه هاني يرافقه رئيس مجلس الأمناء ميشال الدويهي وأمين عام الجامعة جورج ابي رعد، ونائبه كريستيان نصر، وزير العدل عادل نصار في مكتبه في الوزارة.
شكر وفد الجامعة معالي الوزير على جهوده الكبيرة التي بذلها خلال الأشهر الستة الأولى على رأس وزارته، كما جرى التداول في الأوضاع الراهنة على الصعيدين الداخلي و الاغترابي، كما جرى عرض لملفات عدة تهم اللبنانيين المنتشرين والمتحدرين من اصل لبناني، اهمها تعديل قانون الانتخابات النيابية ليتمكن المغتربون من التصويت لكامل اعضاء المجلس النيابي بدلا من حصرهم بست مقاعد، بالاضافة الى موضوع تمديد مهلة تقديم طلبات استرداد الجنسية، وموضوع اموال المودعين.
من جهته شرح معالي الوزير نصار للوفد عمل الوزارة المؤسساتي الشفاف الخارج عن التدخلات السياسية مشددا على مبدأ فصل السلطات.
كما اطلع الوفد على حملة إعلامية سيتم اطلاقها قريبا تلقي الضوء على عمل الوزارة.
