بيان صادر عن رئيس الجامعة اللبنانية الثقافية في العالم روجيه هاني يرفض فيه ربط حق المغتربين الانتخابي بأي بعد طائفي

مع كامل الاحترام لدولة رئيس مجلس النواب الأستاذ نبيه بري، أرفض بشكل قاطع أي طرح يُلمّح إلى أن إقرار حق اللبنانيين المنتشرين في العالم بالاقتراع وفق قيودهم الأصلية ومن خارج لبنان يشكّل عزلًا أو استهدافًا لطائفة معينة.
هذا الكلام يتنافى مع جوهر الدستور اللبناني الذي يساوي بين جميع المواطنين في الحقوق والواجبات، ويكرّس وحدة الكيان اللبناني في المقيمين كما في المنتشرين. فاللبناني، حيثما وُجد، يبقى جزءًا لا يتجزأ من الوطن، ولا يجوز حرمانه من ممارسة حقه الدستوري في اختيار ممثليه بحجة الطائفة أو الجغرافيا.

اللبنانيون المنتشرون ليسوا ضد أحد، ولا يشكّلون خطرًا على أحد، بل هم ركيزة أساسية في دعم لبنان واقتصاده وصورته حول العالم. إنهم الذين حافظوا على اسم لبنان عاليًا حين ضاق الوطن بأبنائه.

لذلك، نعتبر أي تمييز أو محاولة لتقييد حق الانتشار بالمشاركة السياسية إخلالًا بمبدأ المساواة الوطنية، ومساسًا بالعدالة الدستورية. فلبنان لا يُبنى بالإقصاء أو بالخوف من بعضنا البعض، بل بالثقة والانفتاح والاعتراف المتبادل.

الجامعة اللبنانية الثقافية في العالم تؤكد التزامها الدائم بدعم وحدة لبنان والعيش المشترك، وبالدفاع عن حقوق اللبنانيين في الوطن والانتشار على حد سواء، إيمانًا منها بأن قوة لبنان الحقيقية تكمن في أبنائه أينما كانوا.

Statement issued by Roger Hani, President of the World Lebanese Cultural Union (WLCU), rejecting any link between the electoral rights of the diaspora and sectarian affiliation

With full respect for the Speaker of the Parliament, Mr. Nabih Berri, I categorically reject any suggestion that granting Lebanese citizens abroad the right to vote according to their original constituencies constitutes isolation or targeting of a specific sect.

Such statements contradict the essence of the Lebanese Constitution, which guarantees equality among all citizens in rights and duties, and reinforces the unity of the Lebanese entity both for residents and for those abroad. A Lebanese, wherever they may be, remains an integral part of the homeland, and it is unacceptable to deprive them of their constitutional right to choose their representatives based on sect or geography.

Lebanese abroad are not against anyone, nor do they pose any threat; they are a fundamental pillar in supporting Lebanon, its economy, and its image worldwide. They have preserved Lebanon’s name with pride even when the country itself was constrained.

Therefore, we consider any discrimination or attempt to restrict the diaspora’s political participation as a violation of the principle of national equality and a breach of constitutional justice. Lebanon is not built on exclusion or fear of one another, but on trust, openness, and mutual recognition.

The WLCU reaffirms its ongoing commitment to supporting Lebanon’s unity and coexistence, and to defending the rights of Lebanese citizens both at home and abroad, believing that Lebanon’s true strength lies in its people, wherever they may be.
