The World Lebanese Cultural Union, during the war on Lebanon in 2024, launched his proper humanitarian action to assist the Lebanese people affected by the ongoing war in Lebanon. Our focus was not only on displaced individuals but also on those who have chosen to remain in their homes and were isolated, facing significant need for food and essential supplies.
We established a crisis team of WLCU officers who were that time in Lebanon, and who were actively involved in this humanitarian effort.
Thus, the WLCU organized social media campaigns, to which the WLCU Youth Council participated actively, to encourage people to donate. The said campaigns were fruitful which allow us to realize the following actions.
- On September 27th – Haret Sakher, The WLCU stands by the people of the South of Lebanon and visits some of them in Haret Sakher public school (Kesserwan district) to provide them with some basic necessities and milk for children.
- During the crisis, the WLCU also distributed food aid and cleaning supplies to families displaced from Qlaway, Bistiyat (South Lebanon), and Hizzin (Baalbek District, Bekaa) to various areas such as Chouf, Aley, Beirut, Metn, Haret Sakher – Jounieh (Public School), and Tripoli. Additionally, heating fuel was secured for families in Snnayya and Bislaya and for the electricity generator of the Al-Ayshiyeh
- On March 21st, 2025, a delegation from the WLCU conducted a field tour in southern Lebanon, providing in-kind assistance to those in need. The tour covered several towns and villages, including Ain Ebel, Rmeish, and Al-Qawzah, where heating fuel vouchers were distributed to 80 families. The delegation also visited the town of Debel, where the WLCU contributed to a project supplying its artesian well with solar energy, and Ain Al-Delb, where solar-powered lighting equipment was provided for the main road.
- In a humanitarian gesture, the WLCU donated a sterilization device for surgical tools used in treating bites to the Elderly Care Home in Baabda District.
These relief efforts were made possible through a fundraising campaign launched by the WLCU during the recent war, which received extensive support from its members and the Lebanese Diaspora in Cyprus, Denmark, France, Colombia, Chile, the United States (Boston, Los Angeles, San Francisco, New Jersey, and New York), Australia, as well as the WLCU team in Lebanon.
In parallel, the WLCU branches and affiliated associations participated in humanitarian campaigns to aid the people of Lebanon organized by the governments of several countries such as Brazil, Chile, Colombia and France.
In Lebanon, the WLCU participated to the health care campaign organized by Baytna Baytak Clinic October 20th in Bdadoun.
Hereafter the full details about the actions mentioned above
