The President of the WLCU Participated to the Annual Dinner of the Maronite League of Boston

The World President of the WLCU, Mr. Roger Hani, attended the annual dinner organized by the Maronite League in the city of Boston, an event that brought a distinguished group of Lebanese personalities, both residents and expatriates, on the invitation of Mr. Tony Hosri, president of the League in North America.

The evening was marked by a prominent official and cultural presence, including the President of the Maronite League, Ambassador Khalil Karam, the Dean of Saint Joseph University in Beirut, Father Salim Daccache, Father George El Khelli, as well as His Excellency the Consul General of France in Boston, Mr. Mustafa Soykurt, alongside numerous members of the Lebanese community in Boston and its suburbs, as well as participants from several U.S. states.

The World President was accompanied by a delegation from the WLCU comprising the President of the Boston Branch, Mr. Michel Hajjar, the Treasurer, Mr. Chikrallah Abi Chaker, and board member Mr. Tony Saroufim.

In his welcoming speech, President Tony Hosri thanked all attendees for their presence on this occasion, emphasizing that “the Maronite League in North America strives to strengthen the bonds among members of the Lebanese community spread across various states, to defend Lebanese cultural and national values, and to address diaspora-related issues in cooperation with all active diaspora organizations.”

He added, “The presence of this distinguished Lebanese elite today is a living testament to our shared commitment to a united Lebanon, both at home and abroad.”

The WLCU World President, Mr. Roger Hani, also delivered a word of thanks for responding to the invitation despite the distance, praising the ongoing cooperation between the WLCU and the Maronite League in serving the interests of the diaspora, and in strengthening cultural and national ties between Lebanon and the world.

The dinner featured a series of honors awarded by the League’s council, including to Father Salim Daccache, Ambassador Khalil Karam, Father George El Khelli, and the late Ibrahim Hanna’s family—an active family within the Lebanese community in Boston—in recognition of their efforts in promoting Lebanese culture and diaspora affairs.
